This month in our Spiritual Spotlight, I am thrilled to shine a light on the remarkable Nick Ede. Not only is Nick a dear friend of mine, but I've also had the privilege of attending his events and supporting his efforts to raise essential funds for his charity. It was an absolute joy to delve into his insights and weave my own spiritual interpretation into his thoughtful responses.
Nick Ede is a leading brand and culture expert and a regular TV/ media favourite. Founder of the highly successful Style For Stroke charity, which he founded in memory of his mum, who passed away from a stroke.
Nick has fought tirelessly to raise much needed awareness and funds those affected by stroke and brain injury and is campaigner for Gay rights. Style For Stroke has made a commitment to supporting those people in the LGBTQ+ community affected by stroke.
Q1 TJ : On a scale of 1-10, (1 being the lowest, 10 being the highest) how spiritual do you think you are. Please talk about anything spiritual you regularly do (visiting mediums, chakra readings, a love of crystals etc)
Nick: I would say I was an 8, I’m not practically spiritual but I know that I am! I can read people really well and I can walk into a room and know who to speak to and who to avoid immediately! When I am with people I can very quickly feel their energy and I can see their auras on a daily basis.
Q2 TJ: Re-occurring angel numbers, pennies, falling feathers, Robins - Are they are sign from above or a pure coincidence.
Nick: I believe they are signs from above I see 11:11 daily and whenever I see a feather and make a wish and send my love to both my parents!
Q3 TJ: Have you ever experienced a spiritual presence, connection or encounter that cannot be explained.
Nick: I have felt it twice once in my first flat in Wilseden Green in London a prescence ran in front of me and darted from one room to another and I saw the whole thing! When my mother passed away I was in an HMV in Edinburgh and I felt this cold breeze and I saw her in front of me and when I turned round all of the albums were on the floor and I know she was saying hello.
Q4 TJ: What is your favourite colour that you are most drawn to.
Nick: That’s so hard as I love colour but I would say hot pink!
TJ Says: Nick is drawn to all colours but at present has chosen Hot Pink! Hot pink is associated with qualities such as love, compassion, nurturing, and emotional healing. It embodies energy, passion, and a vibrant approach to life. Spiritually, hot pink symbolises a connection to your heart chakra, encouraging openness and acceptance of love and joy. For Nick, the presence of hot pink in his life suggests that he is entering a phase of emotional growth and self-discovery. It indicates a desire to embrace new experiences, express his feelings more freely, and connect with others on a deeper level. Nick is seeking to inspire those around him with his renewed passion for life. Overall, hot pink in this context reflects a vibrant, expressive, and emotionally aware stage in his journey.
Q5 TJ What’s your go-to, feel-good ritual when you're in need of a pick-me-up? Is it dancing, meditating, or maybe binge-watching a favourite show?
Nick: I love music so I will pop on songs that make me smile and listen to them when walking the dog that’s a sure fire way of making me feel lifted.
Q6 TJ: If you had to choose a spirit animal that embodies your journey in life so far, what would you choose and why.
Nick: Mmm I would choose a peacock as they are so regal and people love looking at them because they are so beautiful im not saying im any of those but I love them.
TJ Says: The peacock serves as a potent spiritual animal, reflecting our journey of self-discovery and transformation. Drawn to the peacock's vibrant colours and majestic presence, Nick may find inspiration in its symbolism of beauty and renewal. The peacock's ability to shed its feathers annually resonates with his own experiences of letting go of the past and embracing new beginnings. This connection encourages him to express his true self boldly and unapologetically, reminding him that authenticity is a powerful asset. The peacock's association with protection and insight may also provide Nick with comfort and guidance, urging him to trust his intuition as he seeks deeper meaning and fulfilment in his life. Ultimately, the peacock embodies the celebration of individuality and the courage to stand out, aligning perfectly with Nick's aspirations for personal growth and self-acceptance in this enriching phase of his life.
Q7 TJ: Where in the world have you have felt most connected to yourself - Perhaps a spiritual moment that changed your life happened there or a place you feel like your soul belongs?
Nick: I go to bootcamp annually and feel great when I have gone no booze, lots of exercise, meeting strangers and delicious food!
Q8 TJ:Do you have any quirky spiritual superstitions or habits—like carrying a lucky charm or doing a specific dance / song etc that gets you through life?
Nick: Not really but when I am on tv I always pinch my pinky finger where I used to wear my mother's wedding ring as a way of grounding me and keeping me calm.
Q9 TJ: What’s the one book, movie, TV show or song that made a lasting impact to your life and the way you live it.
Nick: The wizard of oz I know it’s a cliché but it’s a story that everyone can identify with and you can take different nuances from! its made me feel comfort in life and family and what things mean to me.
Q10 TJ: What piece of advice or knowledge would you give to your younger self.
Nick: Don’t Give Up and Never Stop Dreaming and Put The Phone Down!
